𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: Mr. Alvin M. Doroteo, MSF, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries is one of the contributors of the recently published book entitled "Portrait of Small-scale Fisheries in the Philippines".

Mr. Doroteo is an instructor in the College of Fisheries who is a great advocate of small-scale fishing in the locality.

"Glad to be one of the contributors to this book and was given a chance to share the story of our fishermen here in Antique. My heartfelt thanks to the following people who made this journey easier for me: Aldrex Adan Barrientos (for the recommendation and referral), Chin Tatoy Dolorica (reviewer and editor), Isaac Joshua Cunanan (reviewer and editor), Jea Farren (reviewer and editor) and Andy Pablo (for sharing his story)," said Mr. Doroteo in his post.

Moreover, the published book is for policymakers, program managers, researchers, teachers, students, and general readers for a better appreciation of the fishers and small-scale fisheries in the country.

"Looking forward to the day when small-scale fishers are no longer labeled as poor, unrecognized, and undervalued but with their rights recognized and respected," he added.
